General Information About Australian Cattle
They are also known as a Blue Heeler or Queensland Heeler. The ACD breed is not for everyone; this is a very high energy breed and they need plenty of room to exercise. They will stay active all the time and will entertain themselves with just about anything they can find. They are extremely intelligent and loyal companions. Very protective of their surroundings and family but also can be very aggressive. They are a herding breed and it is in their nature to nip at the heels of other animals or humans.
In the min 90’s, I was blessed by a friend who gave me my first Australian Cattle dog. He was moving and could not take the dog. Her name was Ana Sazi and she was a load of fun. Her favorite thing to do was play Frisbee. Ana died years later and I was heart broken. For years the thought of owning another heeler never crossed my mind.
After building a house and being on my own, I thought another heeler would be a great companion. I looked at puppies from all parts of the country and was very particular. I purchased Harley and the fun began. She has truly been a blessing!
I decided to buy a male of my own after Harley’s first litter. His name is Deuce. Together there is no telling what is about to happen. There is never a dull moment.
